I am an artist as are most of my friends and I will suggest these things to you:
I would suggest you get teaching certification along with one other of these careers. Having a degree doesn’t necessarily mean you will get these jobs. Experience and who you know is as or more important than your degree You need to move to a big and art friendly city ( I would not suggest LA) and meet people. Art jobs are not easy to come by, especially these days and have that certification as a back up will be very useful.
And ask yourself this question: Do you really want to be designing toaster ovens, toilet seats and hair dryers or plastic baby crap that will be thrown out and thrown up on?
If you want to go into fashion you HAVE to move to NY, London, Toronto, Paris etc. at some point to study it seriously. A few friends of mine are fashion designers and currently work at coffee shops, sweatshops, mall stores in NY as they cannot find work in an oversaturated market.
Another friend of mine is an animator/cartoonist and worked at Disney for a year and was treated like a slave.
