Question by Lilo: Cat scratching Posts – totally Safe?
Just got one of those 3 leveled, rope & carpet wrapped around the posts, cube in the middle scratching posts for my two kittens for their birthdays and X-Mas. They LOVE it – But my one cat, (they’ll both be a year old) – is a complete nutcase. He thinks he’s a dog, always backflipping and jumping around – so he’s trying to flip from the highest box to the middle one. Never makes it, it’s not positioned correctly. He always falls, but he catches himself with his claws. When he does, it doesn’t sound too good. Scared me to death – so, now I’m freaking out he’ll flip and fly on there and his claws will get caught somehow and it’ll twist his paw, I don’t know. He never acts hurt, always jumps back up or starts running around somewhere else. I think I’m just paranoid he’ll break or twist something. Should I worry? Any tips? Anyone with similar fears/issues that have not been an issue? *lol*

That would be a bit scary.Cats are a little crazy sometimes though.Cats are really resilient they always seem to land on their feet for example.Maybe he’ll tire of that game after while or you might be able to coax him into doing something different on that scratching post?Good luck.
