Question by Laurie: Cat sweater??
I got my cat shaved because of her continuing hairball problems. I had no choice because she goes through these barfing spells every month or so – she will barf up her food until she gets out a large pellet of fur. She’s not even a long-hair – she just can’t handle fur in her belly, I guess. Anyway, she’s an indoor cat, but she still may get chilly. My co-worker, who works for a vet, suggested trying a dog sweater on her. I don’t know about this, but then again, I’d never heard of shaving cats, either. I thought about something like this that is looser: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=7965341 She’s a small cat, so I don’t know if it would fit her. What do you think – would she go ballistic? She doesn’t have her front claws, so at least if she doesn’t like it, it won’t be shredded. She wouldn’t be able to lick herself or scratch though – she’s a nervous cat and doest that a lot – prolly part of the prob. She’s ingesting so much fur. Sweater – yes, no?

Cats aren’t too keen on wearing clothes….they sometimes go “catatonic” on you…meaning they just don’t move and fall over….if it is too loose she will get out of it….
Try brushing your cat everyday to help get rid of excess hair….
