
Shelter stories: Roxie and Bee Bee are years-long shelter cats. With common brown tabby coloring, and touchy dispositions, Roxy and Bee Bee are having a hard time attracting potential adopters. They don’t seem to care too much for people in general, and their common coloring doesn’t attract the attention of visitors when there are so many cats with more stylish coats all vying for attention. Roxy has been at the shelter for a year, and Bee Bee has been at WSHS for three long years. Will these two tought to place cats ever go home? Now Anne, a local resident has decided she wants to give Roxy a new home. Everyone at the shelter is excited to see tough old Roxy has finally connected with someone who will love and care for her. But what about Bee Bee? Will she ever go home? Butter was burned out of her house – and in the confusion following the fire, she was lost. By the time she was found again, living in the remains of her burned out house, she had contracted a serious case of ringworm. Her owner could not take her in, so she came to West Suburban Humane Society. There, she lived in a cage 24/7 for several months while her ringworm, which is contagious to animals and people, was treated. Meanwhile, Vlasta was visiting the shelter, looking for another long-haired breed of cat, but at the suggestion of staff, decided to look at Butter.
