Have him tested. then you will know for sure. Also when I got my cat, years ago, when it was 2 months old I had it tested for feline lukiemia. They told me she had a slight case and that someday she would get sick and die. I cried my head off for days. went to another vet for a second opinion and they went ahead and gave her the vacine and she lived a happy long life and was never sick. If is is caught early, sometimes the vacine will be enough to ward the disease off. This is what I was tod and it worked. Good luck! I love cats too! I have never heard of losing sight as a side effect of the disease, and I have done alot of research on the subject.
