Question by Mr. Man: Female cat’s inexplicable weight loss WITHOUT loss of appetite?
My female housecat (doesn’t often go outside), age 8, has lost a considerable amount of her bodyweight over the last several months, going from 13 or 14 lbs to 10. NO loss of appetite, no eye, coat or other behavioral problems, such as lethargy, hyperactivity, etc. She DID have feline acne, which our vet said would be responsible for the weight loss, but we treated that and she lost another pound. Any ideas?
No changes in litterbox habits, and her food was changed *after* the weight loss. We have known our vet for a very long time, and while we do trust him I wonder myself. We stopped the treatment for a week, the acne has returned, we are going to continue the treatment for a few more weeks and see what develops.

My first thought was perhaps she had worms? Worms don’t always have to appear in the feces/vomit to be present. Does she have cronic diahrrea?
I’d book a vet appointment pretty quick or just call for advice because thats a really substantial weight loss.
