
Meet Boris Kitten, adopted from our local Animal Control Shelter 4 years ago. Boris has allergies which affect his skin, making his fur look all rough. The vet wanted to give him monthly shots of Cortisone, which I’d rather not do. I’ve had good (but very slow) results with: 1) Feeding him Innova’s Evo and Natura’s Duck/Green Pea cat foods, and Nothing Else. 2) Putting (human) Fish Oil on that food. 3) Keeping him on Advantage flea control every 3+ weeks. 4) Flea-combing him A LOT. I think this is much better for the cat than monthly Cortisone shots. I was alarmed at how much he slept after that first shot. He’s more active now. Anyway (sorry for the long rant there), Boris is an “Imperfect” Russian Blue cat. He does not meet the breed standards because he has a white spot on his chest and his eyes are more yellow than the “required” emerald green. Do these imperfections explain why I found him at our local Animal Control shelter? I don’t know. Boris has all the other Russian Blue characteristics: very shy, easily startled, exceedingly affectionate, and basically just a lovey little guy. He loves nothing more than to be carried about the house on my shoulder, purring like mad. I adore him as much as he adores me which is a lot! Anyway I thought it was really cute, finding him in the cabinet like this. I really don’t know how he gets up there!
