Question by ELLE: has anyone heard that the prepackaged mince meat for cats is bad for them?
Someone told me the preservative they use causes a serious illness in cats later on in life…does anyone know if this is true?
Iam not talking about cat food on shelves…this is mince meat for cats prepackaged in the fridge and sold in supermarkets.
I have been feeding them the same mince we eat but their’s is raw… i just thought this would be easier so i wouldn’t have to defrost it.

I have two kittens who I feed adult food once a day, and leave lots of kitten chow at all times. Some pet foods have been recalled lately because of poisons. But ALL pet foods are closely watched, if there was anything wrong with the food, we would hear about it all over the news and then it wouldn’t be allowed to be sold in stores. As long as you feed your cat the right amount, and not over or under feeding him/her your cat will be fine.
If it’s sold as cat food, it should be alright. Like I said before, all pet foods have to be tightly monitored. Not saying your store is abiding by laws, but it should. I’m in the USA, but our laws are laxed compared to England, Canada and some other countries.
