Students at Fort Meigs Elementary in Perrysburg showed off their invention projects Thursday afternoon. The invention convention fits in with the science-social studies curriculum where the students learn about some of the great inventors. Some of the inventions on display included ways to make homework easier, a sock organizer, an eyeglass cleaning system, and a voice-activated television. “They think of a way they can make that job easier or a chore that they hate to do,” said Kathy Bierley, Fort Meigs second grade teacher. “One didn’t like feeding the dogs all the time, so he made a dog feeder that would automatically do it for a week.” Several students also incorporated environmentally friendly elements in their inventions, like solar panels.
This lil’ Italian Greyhound basically kicked Joey, the Great Dane, out of the picture so he could get all the treats from his Nose-It! BTW–Yes, Jimmy actually is very well fed-he just burns soooo many calories living he ends up looking like he’s not fed.
