They are usually under ten pounds/euros/dollars and can be found everywhere. I don’t reccommend buying small wire pet shop cages as they usually cost a LOT and aren’t usually big enough for a Syrian hamster. ~♥BEDDING♥~ The most common beddings are shavings or wood flakes. Hamsters love these as they can burrow underneath. Other types are Carefresh (and other similar brands) and cardboard based bedding. Unless fleece is properly fitted and stuck down hamsters tend to burrow underneath, trapping themselves, eating it, and it gets smelly quickly. For their sleeping area use shredded up toilet paper. It is the cheapest and safest bedding. Plus you’re hamster will love shredding it. ~♥FEEDING♥~ There are two types of hamster food, muesli mix and plain pellets. Pellets are better as hamsters who eat the ‘muesli’ type mix will often turn selective, only eating the seeds they like which doesn’t give them proper nutrition. They can also be fed vegetables (not much fruit or citrus stuff) about twice a week.
