There are many ways to roast coffee, but few that can consistently beat a small-batch drum roaster. “Dog Bowl” roasting was one of those methods. This video presents a ‘refined’ version, where the dog bowl is replaced by a stainless mixing bowl nested inside a steel colander, with a kitchen towel sandwiched in between. This setup is more ergonomic, stays cooler and is more stable than using a dog bowl. Do not attempt indoors unless your kitchen has a commercial-quality vent system… there is a lot of smoke involved.
