Question by dance dance !!!: My cat never covers up after himself in the litter box?
I got two cats in August and they were both roughly 3 months old (not sure because their from a sehlter)
My one cat Echo never covers up his business after going in the litterbox , he use to at first but now he has just stopped.
Its really weird he does his business and then gets out of the litterbox and paws at the floor acting as if he is covering up is business. We then put him back in the litterbox and he hops out of it again. Ive bought seperate litter boxes for each cat and that hasnt made a difference nor has putting him back in the boxx to cover it up. Im at a loss of what to do and Im tired of coming home from work and having the whole downstairs smell horrible due to the litterbox. Any suggestions? Has anyone else ever ahd this problem?
he is fed a high quality food, and has no health problems – he has been checked by the vet
it just smells bad because it is left uncovered for hours while im away

Change the material in the litter box to something they like clawing at – if they hate the smell or feel of the stuff they won’t do much with it. Also, there’s powdery stuff you can get even at supermarkets to mask the smell – just layer it on top.
