Question by Becks B: My kitten has conjunctivitis in one eye, are there any over the counter animal eye medicines I can give her?
Don’t tell me to go to the vet, please, I’ve done that and she was officially diagnosed with conjunctivitis in that eye, and she just told me to get human eye wash (NOT contact solution, just ‘eye wash’ which is basically purified water and a little boric acid), and that it would “probably clear up in a few days”.
It’s been a few days and it’s worse. Are there any topical feline OTC eye meds I can get her without a prescription?
I forgot to say that she said it was viral, if that helps.
And for those that fail at reading comprehension, she was TAKEN to the vet. Clearly, I give a shit. Idiots.
That said, I was dubious about the lack of antibiotics, but she did say it was mild, so I was going to try the eye wash and see if it helped. It hasn’t.

You need a new vet.
Conjunctivitis is an infection and needs antibiotics. It can cause serious damage to your cat’s eye if not treated.
