Question by amber: Cat Questions?
my cat was spraying but i dont think he is now is it just a phase or does it keep going till you get them fixed? And my other question is if you have a puppy and a cat and the cat is scared of the puppy is there any chance they will get along?

No, the cat will keep spraying until you get him fixed. Spraying is a way of ‘marking his territory’ and asserting dominance over the area. If he’s stopped for the moment, it’s probably because he feels like he’s made his claim clear. As soon as the smell starts to fade he’ll start spraying again.
Cats and dogs can actually be great friends. If the cat is an adult, it will be scared or wary of the puppy for a while. As long as the puppy is raised around the cat, though, it will grow up thinking of cats as friends. Eventually the cat will get used to the puppy (particularly after he calms down a bit) and accept him. It’s the same as introducing any stranger to an animal, only the puppy is the sort of stranger that the cat’s been taught to fear up until this point. Just give the cat time to get used to the puppy.
