Question by John: Is my cat at risk for contracting any illnesses/conditions by hanging around with a stray cat?
A stray cat recently began hanging around my yard once in awhile. I’ve seen my cat and the stray playing outside a few times. They’re perfectly friendly with each other, so I’m not worried about fighting injuries or anything like that. But should I be worried that my cat could catch diseases from the stray? Such as distemper, worms, etc?

Yes, stray cats can have a whole host of diseases. I’d say when the stray is around, keep your cat inside, even though the stray may be harmless and disease free, better safe than sorry.
