Question by gigi: Signs of cat allergy and how long do they take to show?
My son has mild asthma and allergies. He is 2 and was tested for certain allergies a year ago and cat dander was one of them. It was negative. We took in a stray about 1 week and a half ago and then found its family and got a new kitten 2 days ago. Last night my son started coughing some and sneezed a few times today. I want no make sure he is not going to be alergic to the new kitty! Could the other cat not have bothered him and this one does or am I overreacting and it could be a cold coming on?

my bet is that he has a cold coming on. Cat allergies usually show up immediately–sneezing, scratchy eyes and throat, not so much coughing unless it’s because of the scratchy throat.
