Question by bleucharm: Sick Kitten and Cat. FIP or Respitory Infection?
My four year old cat was sneezing about three weeks ago and it all of a sudden stopped, then he started scratching his head and I’ve noticed he has tiny bald spots. He’s not sneezing anymore, but now my kitten has been sneezing and wheezing so I took him to the vet since he seems a little more sickly then the older cat. The vet told me he might have FIP but there is no accurate test for it. He gave him some antibiotics and some vitamins. It’s been four days and he’s been eating and drinking and going to the bathroom, but he’s still sneezing and congested.
Anyone know what the problem might be?

My kitten came to me riddled with infections… One being an Upper Respiratory Infection. She too was very wheezy and would sneeze in bouts. It eventually led to coughing fits. The vet recommended ( which we did) adding colostrum to her food daily to boost her immune system to fight off the infection, and nebulizer treatment 2x daily for 3 days. The nebulizer treatment cleared up her lungs enough that the wheezing, sneezing and coughing has subsided. As a last result, you also might want to check your cats food, the hair-loss you mentioned might be associated with an allergy. Even if your cats have had the same frmula they can develop allergies at any time.
