bideawee.org Can’t mommy get any time for herself? We have started to wean the 7 week old babies from their mom – and it’s not a moment too soon for Chloe! As you can see here, Chloe’s eight beautiful babies are doing splendidly – thanks to the support of Bideawee’s generous donors! Keep the canned Friskies coming! ๐ Because Chloe’s name comes from a Greek word for “green shoot,” her babies are named after other “green” words: Ivy, Sage, Willow, Jade, Malachite, Mossy, Chartreuse, and Olive. Chloe and her kittens should be ready for adoption in a couple of weeks. In case you missed her story the first time around, here it is: Chloe was a homeless cat and very pregnant when we found her at a New York City municipal shelter. The Great Catsby was a 5 week old kitten we adopted. He lived for a week. I can thank Paula Young , Director of the Mount Vernon Center for Animal Control for knowingly adopting out a kitten that was dying without telling us. This kitten should have gone to a foster home like she had told everyone that others had gone. Only I found out it was a lie. There were no foster homes, there were no 63 kittens dropped on her doorstep. Rather there were only 20. She and the MVCAC lied and after 00 in vet bills, 1 week later this kitten was dead. What kind of professional organization adopts out dying kittens to the unsuspecting hopefuls? Just to make headlines in the paper? SHAME ON THEM!
