Titus has been scratching for a couple of days but we couldn’t find any fleas. A girl at Jay’s work said her dog did that so she just got some OTC flea drops for hers and it stopped. So Jay picked up some for the dog and the cats (figuring if he had them, they’d jump to the cats). We treated the cats first because the dog one was toxic to cats, so we thought we’d do him last and put him to bed for the night until it dried. By the time he’d put it on Noah and Hemi, and then Titus, the cats were running around acting crazy and weird. Noah’s fur was all puffed up and his eyes were super dilated, he was being skittish and wouldn’t let me near him. He wouldn’t even take treats or come out when I shook the bag (unlike him!). Then he sat on the living room table and started panting. Hard. He looked wild. I went on the net to look up the flea meds, and found all these horror stories of cats dying from using this medication. Immediately I told Jay to get him in the bath. We washed him twice with dish soap to get it all off. He was NOT happy about it. We did the same with Hemi. Got clawed to bits by him! Then we looked up the brand we used on Titus and found out the same thing about it, so we washed him off too. Thankfully they’re ok. Acting normal now, but we were lucky. www.hartzvictims.org
