Question by Girl: Why don’t they let you try on coats + accessories in the fitting rooms?
I guess it depends which mall you go to…but at the American Eagle Outfitters store downtown, they do NOT allow outerwear or accessories into the fitting rooms and i have no idea why?
So i end up having to try on coats, hats and scarves outside the changeroom infront of this HUGE mirror with people staring. And i have to put down everything i’m carrying onto the ground and people comment etc…(which makes me uncomfortable).
But then…at this OTHER mall they allow basically anything into the fitting rooms. Why didn’t they allow them at the mall downtown? Is it a security thing or what?
For hats and scarves i’d need to try them on to see if they fit properly and look good on me! Like does the color look right? Does it fit well etc…
And i hate trying on things infront of people. In the fitting rooms i can just take my time and not feel intimidated and rushed.

Outerwear is expensive and they might think you’re trying to put it in your bag or something. I don’t understand it because they put those security tags on everything. I’ve noticed that stores downtown have more security. Stores that aren’t very popular don’t care as much.
